Two former high-ranking executives at JPMorgan Chase faced tough questions from senators Friday about why the bank played down risks and hid losses from regulators when it was losing billions of dollars.
CONWAY - Ken Axelson, former Lynden High School principal, is stepping down as superintendent of Conway School District after four years there.
Karst Brandsma, former interim superintendent at Mount Baker School District and former deputy superintendent for Bellingham schools, is one of four candidates to replace him.
Axelson has been a part-time superintendent and will depart at the end of the school year. He believes the district needs someone who can devote more time to the job, and he is looking for something different, according to the Skagit Valley Herald.
