2 found dead in Shelton; police searching for man

LISA PEMBERTON

Shelton police were investigating an apparent double homicide that was discovered shortly after reports of gunfire at 1 a.m. Monday in the 200 block of West Harvard Avenue, Lt. Les Watson said.

Mason County Coroner Wes Stockwell identified the dead as Tyler W. Drake, 19, and Anitrea (Roxy) Leigh Taber, 37, both of Shelton.

Police said Charles Sydney Longshore, 22, was a suspect in the shootings. Longshore was described as an American Indian, 6 feet, 2 inches tall and 186 pounds, with reddish-brown hair and hazel eyes. He has a large tattoo on the left side of his neck. His whereabouts were unknown, and he was considered armed and dangerous, Watson said. Longshore was wanted on suspicion of two counts of homicide and an additional felony warrant.

On Monday morning, police raided a nearby home they believe could be connected to the shooting. A man and a woman were taken into custody and questioned after a brief standoff.

Autopsies were scheduled for today. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Shelton Police Department at 360-426-4441.
