TRACKING LOCALS ON THE PGA TOUR
This week: The Memorial Tournament, through today, Muirfield Golf Club, Dublin, Ohio.
In the field: Puyallup’s Ryan Moore and Gig Harbor’s Kyle Stanley.
Moore’s third-round score: 1-under-par 71.
Position: Moore (2-under 214) is tied for eighth, six strokes behind leader Spencer Levin (69) at 8-under 208. Stanley (5-over 147) missed the cut Friday.
Recap: Moore had a solid round that, once again, puts him near the lead heading into the final round. Is this the weekend he breaks through? Levin has not shown himself to be bulletproof after his meltdown at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, and that could allow the chasers back into the tournament today. As for Moore, he was 2-under after a birdie at the 13th hole (11-foot putt) but lost a shot at the hole that has given him fits – No. 16 – when he three-putted from 34 feet for bogey.
Moore’s tee time today: 9:50 a.m. (PDT).
