Pierce County prosecutors have charged a 24-year-old woman with stealing a man’s dinner leftovers and then snatching beef sticks from a Fife convenience store.
Charging documents say Audreyanna Newell smelled of alcohol and was hiding a dirty crack pipe when she was arrested Saturday.
Court documents gave this account:
Fife police were called to a Union 76 convenience store, and the clerk told officers a woman, later identified as Newell, walked out of the store without paying for several beef sticks. The clerk followed the woman and told her to pay for the items. The woman continued walking.
Officers found the woman, but she refused to stop. They chased her down and detained her as she was eating one of the beef sticks.
Another man told officers the woman had come running at them as they returned to their motel room with their dinner leftovers. She bumped into the man and took his food box.
Newell said someone had given her the beef sticks at the convenience store.
She was charged Monday with second-degree robbery, first-degree theft, third-degree theft, obstructing an officer and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
