A 26-year-old woman was hurt early Thursday after her car hit the front wheels of a rail car being moved in the Tideflats.

Tacoma firefighters freed the woman from the car and she was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, Tacoma fire and police departments reported.

The rail car was being moved across the street to a plant for processing in the 1900 block of Marine View Drive. A flagger was helping with the move about 2:30 a.m. The woman’s car slowed but didn’t stop and hit the front wheels of a rail car, the Fire Department said.

The woman’s car sustained significant damage.
