The third annual CamOcean World Oceans Day Festival will be held at Cama Beach State Park on Satuday.
The one-day festival runs from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the park at 1880 S.W. Camano Drive, Camano Island.
Participants will learn how the waters of Puget Sound fit into a larger resource of the world’s combined oceans through interpretive beach walks, demonstrations, hands-on activities and educational booth displays by more than 35 ocean conservation and natural resource organizations.
The event also features in-water rescue demonstrations by Stanwood-Camano Fire Rescue, live music, games, guided trail walks, park tours, face-painting, geocaching, arts and crafts and storytelling for kids.
A Discover Pass is required to enter Cama Beach State Park for the event.
Parking is limited. Alternative forms of transportation are suggested. Additional free parking is available two miles north of Cama Beach State Park at the Camano Chapel, 867 S.W. Camano Drive, Camano Island. Free shuttle service to and from the festival is provided.

RAINIER TRAIL WORK
The next Mount Rainier National Park Associates trails work party will be Saturday. the volunteers will do tread repair work on the Laughingwater Creek Trail in the park’s southeast corner.
Participants should plan to meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Ohanapecosh ranger station and be ready to move out by 9 a.m.
When you enter the park, tell the gate attendant you will be working on a volunteer project because volunteers enter the park for free.
Participants should be prepared for a hike to the work site. Be sure to bring your lunch and plenty of fluids to drink, work gloves and safety glasses and a set of rain gear.
If you plan to attend the work party, send an email indicating that you are coming and provide the number of volunteers you expect to accompany you. The group needs an estimate of the number of volunteers so park staff can be sure to have enough tools for us all.
