If you can believe it, this weekends Relay for LIfe in Tacoma did even more than raise $575,000 for cancer research.
Event co-chair Lori Duester emailed this morning to report that the relay also donated 5,627 pounds of food to the Emergency Food Network. The food came from a change this year to the annual luminaria ceremony. Instead of filling the luminaria bags with sand, canned food formed the base and held the candles.
