  • Chaplaincy receives $100,000 training grant

    The Chaplaincy has received a $100,000 grant to support its theological education program that trains chaplains to help people who are in crisis or grieving the loss of a loved one.

    The two-year grant comes from the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation and will pay for faculty costs and materials for The Chaplaincy's Clinical Pastoral Education program. The program trains people of all faiths who wish to become chaplains.

    The program started in 1982 and has trained 150 men and 125 women to serve in health care facilities or churches, and is nationally accredited through the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education.
