Lakes High makes beautiful music at B.C. festival

Lakes High School’s choral program recently participated in the Heritage Music Festival in Vancouver, B.C., and was recognized with several awards.

The Concert Choir won first place, Gold Award, in the 2A Concert Choir division. The Studio Chamber Choir received a Gold Award in the Chamber Choir category and was selected as Outstanding Choral Group of the festival, having the highest score of any choir regardless of school size or group category.

The school’s overall choral program was recognized as winner of the Choral Sweepstakes Award.

Senior Kylie Hamlin received the only Maestro soloist’s award given to a vocalist for her performance of J. Edmund Hughes’ “It Was a Lover and His Lass.”
