Pierce County prosecutors charged a man Tuesday with trying to hold up two Tacoma banks on Sixth Avenue within five minutes.
William Dennis Marsh, 51, faces one count of first-degree robbery and one count of first-degree attempted robbery.
According to charging documents:
Marsh entered Chase Bank, 6616 Sixth Ave., Monday afternoon and handed a teller a note demanding money. He “stated he was having a bad day and that (the teller) should not make it worse,” documents say.
Marsh left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Five minutes later, a robbery was reported at Bank of America at 6510 Sixth Ave.
Marsh allegedly fled that bank branch without any money and soon was arrested at a nearby restaurant. Officers found a wallet, napkins, a rock, a partial roll of quarters and cash in his pockets, according to court papers.
