Jack McInerney scored twice, and the Philadelphia Union beat Sporting Kansas City, 4-0, at home Saturday night to snap a six-game winless skid.
Lionard Pajoy converted a penalty kick in the 81st minute after Antoine Hoppenot was fouled in the box, and Hoppenot also had a goal in the 87th minute for the Union.
Kansas City saw its four-game unbeaten streak end.
Earthquakes 2, at Real Salt Lake 1: Reserve forward Alan Gordon scored a goal and assisted on a goal by Chris Wondolowski as San Jose edged Real Salt Lake.
The victory allowed San Jose to move into first place in the Western Conference. Javier Morales scored for RSL.
At Galaxy 3, Whitecaps 0: Mike Magee, Robbie Keane and Landon Donovan scored first-half goals, and Los Angeles defeated Vancouver for its third consecutive victory.
Keane was making his first appearance for the Galaxy since returning from Euro 2012 duty with Ireland.
At Toronto FC 2, Revolution 2: Chris Tierney scored during second-half stoppage time to lift New England to a draw.
With the Revolution trailing 2-0, Blake Brettschneider cut the deficit in half in the 71st minute as he knocked a rebound past Toronto keeper Milos Kocic.
It was the second straight game Toronto gave up a two-goal lead.
At Impact 4, Dynamo 2: Hassoun Camara got his first MLS goal, and Patrice Bernier scored on a penalty kick in the second half to help Montreal beat Houston.
Sanna Nyassi and Davy Arnaud also scored for the Impact.
At FC Dallas 0, Chivas USA 0: Dan Kennedy finished with three saves to enable Chivas USA to tie FC Dallas.
With the tie, FC Dallas extended its winless streak to 11 games to set a new club record.
FC Dallas is 0-7-4 during its winless streak and has been shut out four times during that span. Chivas USA is 5-7-4 and salvaged a tie despite managing a season-low two shots.
At Fire 2, Crew 1: Marco Pappa and Dominic Oduro scored in the first 26 minutes as Chicago earned a victory over Columbus.
The victory moved the Fire within three points of third-place New York in the Eastern Conference. Columbus, which was dominated from the start by the Fire, entered the game with a six-match unbeaten streak.
