Residents can have their say tonight on a proposal that would allow medical cannabis facilities to operate in Tacoma.

A public hearing is set tonight to take comments about the city Planning Commission’s recommendations for providing a zoning framework to allow for medical cannabis distribution and production in parts of the city. The commission’s recommendations, which were finalized June 6, also propose sensitive-use buffering and development standards aimed at mitigating potential impacts.

The hearing will begin at 5:30 p.m. during the Tacoma City Council’s regular meeting at the Tacoma Municipal Building, 747 Market St.
