An 18-year-old Spanaway woman died Wednesday after crashing her car into a tree.
The collision occurred just before 3 a.m. in the 2200 block of 208th Street East in Spanaway.
“The vehicle was traveling at an excessive speed, left the roadway and collided with a tree,” Pierce County Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Jerry Bates said.
The driver, who has not yet been identified, was extricated from the car and pronounced dead at a hospital.
Her two passengers, an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, were not seriously injured.
