Setting up for last year’s Urban Art Festival was anything but serene for event co-founder Linda Honeck, center, as she and a troop of volunteers carried heavy decorations to a moving truck. The free event features music, art and food at Dock Street Park. (STAFF FILE PHOTO)

It’s back – the annual Urban Art Festival, in its eighth year of organizing funky music, art and general celebration down on Dock Street along the Thea Foss Waterway.

All afternoon and evening Saturday and Sunday, you can check out two stages of live music, BMX performances, an arcade, dance, art, kids’ activities and more in the Dock Street park, just south of the Albers Mill building and Museum of Glass. There’ll also be craft vendors and plenty of food and drink to keep your energy up.

Check it out from noon-9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dock Street Park, 2101 Dock St., Tacoma. facebook.com/urbanartfestivaltacoma.
