  • Poetry contest tonight at Richland Library

    Eight students from four high schools will recite classical and contemporary poetry at the Southeastern Washington Poetry Out Loud contest.

    The free event begins at 6 p.m. today in the Doris Roberts Gallery at the Richland Public Library, 955 Northgate Drive.

    Participants won schoolwide competitions at Kamiakin, Kennewick, Kiona-Benton and Delta high schools to advance to the regional competition.

  • Make a blanket today at Richland library

    Project Linus' annual Make A Blanket Day is today.

    From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the club will be making blankets at the public library, 955 Northgate Drive, Richland. The event is for quilters, knitters/crocheters, and thosewho like to tie blankets.

    Participants are asked to bring their own supplies and, if necessary, a sack lunch.
