Tacoma police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who hid out in a Target store to steal more than $15,000 worth of iPads and accessories. The burglary occurred June 3 at the Target store at South 23rd Street.
Police say a man entered the store about 8:30 p.m. and hid until the store closed. Around midnight, he took several items of luggage from the shelves, smashed multiple display cases and loaded the luggage with electronics.
He then broke open a glass door and ran, heading west toward Union Avenue.
Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and charging of the suspect. Anonymous tips can be called in to 253-591-5959.
The burglar is black, about 20 years old with a light complexion and slender build. He was wearing a black-and-white checkered hooded coat, light-colored pants, black shoes, white gloves and a baseball cap with a red bill.
