McGranahan Architects of Tacoma has hired Todd Olson as the director of its health care studio. He has 30 years of experience implementing a diverse range of health care project types and will lead the expansion of the firm’s health care market sector. His past clients include Franciscan Health Services, Swedish Medical Center, Evergreen Healthcare, University of Washington Medical Center and Harborview Medical Center. Olson has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington, completed graduate studies in Rome and the Colds Regions Engineering Short Course through the University of Washington.

Marta Wilkins has joined Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in Tacoma as a financial adviser. She provides retirement planning, investment and asset preservation strategies for individual and family investors in the South Sound. Wilkins received her bachelor’s degree from University of California Davis. She is an adviser with the Global Wealth Management Division of the firm.

The Executive Council for a Greater Tacoma, a nonprofit organization made up of Tacoma business and community leaders, has announced Emily Hall as new director for the organization. She previously worked with the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, a Bill and Melinda Gates-funded research firm, working in global health public policy and international relations. Hall is a graduate of the University of Washington.

The Greater Tacoma Community Foundation has announced new members of its board of directors:
Gary Brooks, partner with Brooks, Hughes & Jones located in Old Town Tacoma. He is co-author of “Ineffective Habits of Financial Advisors (and the Disciplines to Break Them): A Framework for Avoiding the Mistakes Everyone Else Makes.”
John Korsmo Jr., president, Korsmo Construction in Tacoma. He holds a number of community leadership positions, including serving as trustee for the Association of General Contractors, commissioner of Lakewood Water District and member of the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce and the Tacoma Pierce County Chamber of Commerce. Korsmo is a board member of the Broadway Center for the Performing Arts and the Pierce County Library Foundation and holds a bachelor’s degree from Pacific Lutheran University.
Carla Pelster, retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel, was among the first women in the Minuteman II Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Career field and joined McChord Air Force Base in 1995, where she performed a variety of operations and logistics duties. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Puget Sound and a master’s degree from Central Missouri State University.
