The state Department of Health took the following actions regarding Pierce County health care providers, a news release states.

According to the release:

In May, the department suspended the license of massage therapist John M. Hathaway for three years. Hathaway had a sexual relationship with a patient and was convicted of violating a protection order forbidding contact with the patient.

In June, the Chemical Dependency Professional Program indefinitely suspended the credential of chemical dependency professional trainee James Daniel Rooth for failing to comply with terms and conditions set against his credential.

For information about health care providers statewide, go to www.doh.wa.gov and click “Provider Credential Search” on the left side of the page. The information is also available by calling 360-236-4700. People who think a health care provider acted unprofessionally are encouraged to call and report their complaint.
