Tacoma police are looking for suspects in the latest of seven armed robberies apparently targeting Asian families.
In the most recent incident, four people were tied up Friday inside their home in the 9000 block of South K Street as it was ransacked from about 4-6 p.m., police spokesman Mark Fulghum said. The youngest victim was 8, and several family members suffered minor injuries, Fulghum said.
The robbery fits the profile of six others since December.
“All of them are very similar in nature, and we believe they’re all related,” Fulghum said.
He said two male robbers armed with handguns bind the families as they communicate with a female accomplice via walkie-talkies. They then ransack the houses, taking valuables such as money and jewelry.
In Friday’s robbery, the two men wore black clothing and blue bandannas that obscured their faces, Fulghum said. They were described as Asian or Hispanic, and in their 20s.
Anyone with information about these robberies is asked to call Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers at 253-591-5959.
