Mariners send Hector Noesi down to Rainiers, call up big-hitting Carlos Peguero

DARRIN BEENE

Hector Noesi is headed to the Tacoma Rainiers. And replacing him is outfielder Carlos Peguero, who has been one of the PCL’s hottest hitters.

The Mariners announced the move today, one day after Noesi lost his MLB-worst 11th game of the season. Noesi, with Wednesday’s 4-2 loss to the Baltimore Orioles, has a 2-11 record with a 5.77 ERA in 17 starts covering 96.2 innings. He has not won since May 12, a span of 11 starts.
