Liberty Ridge students win disaster contest

Two students at Liberty Ridge Elementary in Sumner recently were awarded $500 for their school’s disaster-preparedness efforts.

They took part in a disasters and catastrophes preparedness competition sponsored by Puget Sound Energy. The contest theme, “What to do to make it through,” was based on a new public education campaign developed by emergency management agencies across the region.
