Search for missing Puyallup River inner tuber likely recovery versus rescue

A man who went missing inner tubing on the Puyallup River Sunday will now likely be recovered instead of rescued, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.

“At this point, it’s a recovery, unless he’s on the shoreline somewhere,” sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said. “We’ve searched the shorelines and not found him. Unfortunately, we think it’s probably a recovery at this point.”
