The Defense Department is sending almost $91 million to Lakewood’s Clover Park School District to demolish and rebuild three elementary schools that serve students at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
The state Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction recently released its list of statewide school performance in low-income schools, as required by the federal government. The list covers schools that receive federal Title I funding, which goes to high-poverty schools.
Summer school starts July 15 in the Clover Park School District, with nearly 700 elementary and middle school students.
A Lakewood school and a Tacoma teacher will be honored at the 2012 Golden Apple Awards ceremony Feb. 1.
St. Leo Food Connection is now part of a U.S. Department of Agriculture program that will help the organization provide snacks and meals to kids who attend schools in and near Tacoma’s Hilltop neighborhood.
