Tacoma police on Tuesday were looking for the driver of a vehicle that hit a pedestrian near North 26th Street and Shirley streets Thursday and fled.
A woman in her early 50s was hit and seriously injured about 8 p.m., police said.
The car was described as similar to a 2009 silver Volkswagen hatchback, possibly a GTI, Golf or Rabbit, with a roof rack and chrome rims. Its front bumper and hood likely are damaged, and possibly its windshield.
Police asked anyone with information about such a vehicle or the hit-and-run to call detective Jeff Turner at 253-591-5986 or email him at jturner@cityoftacoma.org. Reports also can be made to 253-798-4721.
