The main exit into downtown Tacoma from northbound Interstate 5 will reopen Saturday morning, delighting drivers who have taken a detour for 2 ½ months.
Crews will open the Exit 133 off-ramp at 7 a.m. Saturday, two weeks ahead of schedule. The off-ramp carries northbound traffic to Interstate 705 and the city center.

Tacoma’s Murray Morgan Bridge reopens at noon Thursday although work will continue through February, city officials said.
Water damage forced the downtown Tacoma Center YMCA to close today, but the doors should reopen Thursday morning, spokeswoman Michelle LaRue said.
What: Santa Runs Tacoma offers 5- and 10-kilometer races and a 1-kilometer race for kids. Even dogs (on short leashes) are welcome to participate in the 5K event. Participants are encouraged to run in holiday costumes. Dressing up isn’t required but there will be a costume contest as part of the festivities. Santa will be running the race. Catch him if you can.

The beer will be on tap tomorrow. Hop heads - find it fast, the brew will be in limited supply.
UPDATE as of 4:28 p.m. Police rendered the device safe, spokeswoman Loretta Cool said. "It was what appeared to be a lunch bucket," she added. Traffic in the area has been reopened.
