Suspect in assaults is arrested after long standoff in Spanaway

After an hours-long standoff at a Spanaway house Wednesday night, a Pierce County sheriff’s SWAT team arrested a convicted felon wanted for allegedly assaulting and imprisoning two women.
Douglas Alfred Bischoff, 24, barricaded himself inside the home of an acquaintance’s parents in the 4200 block 213th Court East. He surrendered about 9:15 p.m. after the SWAT team exploded the barricades he put up and filled the house with gas to drive him out.
A bench warrant was issued Tuesday for Bischoff, accused of assaulting two women at his apartment last week. He faces one count of unlawful imprisonment, one count of third-degree theft and four counts of unlawful possession of a firearm in that case.
Another man, 18-year-old Carlos Aguirre, also was charged with unlawful imprisonment and third-degree theft.
According to charging papers:
Bischoff met two women at a convenience store and they accompanied him home, where they drank alcohol. At some point, Bischoff used a stun gun to shock both women, then struck one in the head several times.
The women tried to leave but were stopped and thrown to the floor. They eventually escaped and called the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.
A SWAT team served a search warrant at the apartment last week and arrested Aguirre, who claimed he was asleep during the incident. Bischoff was able to escape.
Recovered from the home were a purse and iPhone belonging to one of the victims, and four guns – an SKS rifle, a 12-gauge shotgun, a .22-caliber pistol and a .270-caliber rifle hidden in the bathroom.
