Lightning strikes again and again

Reader Wesley W. Burk captured this image of lightning striking behind the Tacoma Narrows Bridges on Friday. More lightning could strike the South Sound as thunderstorms hang around the forecast through Thursday. The National Weather Service said Monday that the only thing unusual about last week’s lightning is that it hung around longer. “Our thunderstorms are usually one and done and don’t last long,” NWS meteorologist Jay Neher said. “There seemed to be a bit more. That’s a little more uncommon.” See more reader photos at thenewstribune.com/community.
