Man with DUI convictions charged again after driving across Steilacoom yard

Pierce County prosecutors have charged a suspected drunken driver with prior convictions after he drove through a yard in Steilacoom Sunday and tried to assault the homeowner when confronted.

William James Hughes Jr., 42, has been charged with fourth-degree assault, felony DUI, third-degree driving on a suspended license, resisting arrest and failure to have an ignition interlock device.
