Bear killed after being hit by car near Roy

A 3-year-old bear was euthanized this afternoon after being struck by a car near Roy, according to the Washington State Patrol.

    Multiple residents called 911 shortly after midnight to report they had spotted a large bear in their yards looking for food and eating out of birdfeeders.

    By the time deputies responded, the bear had wandered back into the woods near the development. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife has been notified and will follow up.
