Things to do today and this week:

 • Take advantage of the experts at the Master Gardener Clinics at Sehmel Homestead Park. They are available from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesdays through November. The master gardener demo garden is in the park at Sehmel Drive Northwest and 78th Avenue Northwest in Gig Harbor.

 • Pack a lunch and enjoy the state-of-the-art playground and a refreshing spray park, a half-mile trail, the White River Valley Museum plus a performance geared just for the kids at the Kids SummerStage from noon-1 p.m. today and every Wednesday through Aug. 15.  • Enjoy hands-on learning and fun for the whole family with activities include sing-alongs, interactive demonstrations, crafts, healthy snacks, and more at Family Fun Nights. Tonight’s talk will be about Drain Rangers, how stormwater drains directly into Puget Sound. It’s 6:30-8:30 tonight at Tacoma Nature Center, 1919 S. Tyler St., Tacoma.
