A vehicle driven by Stan Lengele of Roy flipped after striking a 3-year-old bear attempting to cross state Route 507 at milepost 32 near Roy at about noon Wednesday. Lengele and his passenger were not injured, but the 300-pound bear wasn’t so lucky. Wildlife officers euthanized the bear after determining its injuries were too severe to try to save it. Its carcass will be used to feed animals at Wolf Haven or Northwest Trek, said Washington State Patrol trooper Guy Gill.
