Last night/this morning I was once again reminded of that in an extreme way. The Tacoma Rainiers defeated the Sacramento River Cats 2-1 in 18 innings.

Two pretty rare events have happened involving Tacoma baseball this past week: a double-digit win streak and a midseason managerial change.
Even on a holiday, the Tacoma Rainiers couldn’t keep clam about their new concessionaire.
The Rainiers, who trailed by six runs after three innings and four after eight, rallied for seven runs in the ninth and hung on for a 13-12 victory despite committing five errors.
