 • Discover local art as Proctor Farmers Market is invaded by Proctor Art Gallery artists for the annual Food Bank Art-a-Thon today from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The artists and friends will volunteer their time to draw attention to the need to have fresh produce at the Northwest Tacoma FISH Food Bank. The money raised will be earmarked to purchase the fruits and vegetables from the Proctor Farmers Market, North 27th and Proctor streets in Tacoma; 253-759-5168, proctorartgallery.com.

 • An Adoptable Pet Parade and a demonstration of canine agility are just a couple of the highlights of this year’s Dog-A-Thon, the Humane Society’s walk to benefit homeless pets, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. today.  • Enjoy activities, games and music while learning about Tacoma’s history at the Pioneer Day Festival today, sponsored by the Job Carr Museum. There will also be Living History Walking Tours at 12:30, 1 and 1:30 p.m. Tour Ticket are $10 adults and free for children. Admission to the festival from 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. is free and it’s in Old Town Park, 2350 N. 30th St., Tacoma; 253-627-5404, jobcarrmuseum.org.
