The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department on Friday released surveillance photos of a bank robber who held up a KeyBank branch in Graham on Thursday.
The man walked into the bank in the 22100 block of Meridian East just before 1 p.m. deputies said. He demanded cash, pulled out a gun and said he had a bomb.
After putting the money in a maroon-and-black backpack, the robber left what he said was a bomb in the bank lobby before running into a nearby wooded area. A K-9 and air search failed to turn up the robber.
The bomb squad was called in and determined the device was not dangerous.
No one was hurt in the robbery.
The robber was described as 30 to 40 years old, 5 feet 5 to 5 feet 7, and 130 to 150 pounds. He was wearing khaki shorts, a dark gray zippered hooded sweatshirt, white gloves, a dark blue baseball hat and a bandanna or cloth covering the bottom half of his face.
Anyone with information can call Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers at 253-597-5959.
