Grapeview Water & Art Festival
What: The event is held at a marina on Case Inlet. The annual event is hosted by the Grapeview Community Association and Fair Harbor Marina.
When: Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Where: Fair Harbor Marina, 5050 E. Grapeview Loop Road, Grapeview.
Festival features: The event includes an art show that will have more than 40 local artists working in pottery, sculpture, jewelry, glass, wood, paint and photography. There will be 2012 Water Festival T-shirts and posters, designed by local artist Susan Marmolejo Kipp from Harstine Island, on sale. Throughout the day there will be live music. There will be a golfing contest from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., with prizes awarded at 3:30 p.m.
Activities for children: There will be boat building, kite making, visor decorating, face painting, airplane making, magic wands and more. There will be a children’s fishing derby from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Participants need to bring their own gear and bait. Life jackets are mandatory. Prizes will be awarded at 2:30 p.m.
Food options: For the cooks in the crowd, “A Taste of Grapeview Cookbook – A Collection of Recipes from the Grapeview Community Association” is new this year. On sale at the membership booth, the book is a compilation of recipes from the different association members.
For those looking for fair food, attendees can nosh on hamburgers, hot dogs, clams, shrimp cocktail, corn on the cob, fruit cobbler, sno-cones, popcorn and beverages.
