South King firefighter dies from cancer, to be honored as line-of-duty death

Former firefighter John Moncrief, 59, died from cancer late Saturday night, which South King Fire and Rescue said will be recognized as a Line of Duty Death.

The cancer was the result of exposure to combustion-related toxins throughout Moncrief’s 22-year career, South King fire said.
