Olympia’s Dominick Francks and Jarred Bossio will join an elite field for the start of the 46th Pacific Coast Amateur today at Bandon Dunes Resort in Oregon.
Francks’ first-round tee time will be at 8:10 a.m. Bossio’s is at 11:30 a.m.
Defending champion Chris Williams of the University of Washington won’t be there, but there’s no shortage of talent for the four-round event on the Bandon Trails and Bandon Dunes golf courses.
Among the contestants is Jordan Irwin of Calgary, Alberta, who won the 2008 title at Royal Colwood GC in Victoria, BC. Irwin is bidding to become just the third person to win more than one Pacific Coast title and the first since Billy Mayfair in 1987-88.
