University Place woman charged in assault at 7-Eleven
Last updated: July 24th, 2012 07:01 AM (PDT)

A 22-year-old woman is accused of throwing bleach in another woman’s face and assaulting her at a convenience store because the victim testified against her baby’s father.

Pierce County prosecutors charged Deara Lewis with intimidating a witness, first-degree robbery and second-degree assault. She has not been arrested.

According to charging papers:

The victim was inside a 7-Eleven store in University Place on May 4 when Lewis approached and said, “Come outside, snitch, and get what was coming for you.”

Lewis then threw a liquid believed to be bleach in the victim’s face and began hitting her. A third woman, who has not been identified, joined the fight to assist Lewis. They stole the victim’s purse before fleeing in an SUV.

The victim had recently testified as a witness against David Daniels, who was charged with promoting commercial sexual abuse of a minor, second-degree robbery, unlawful imprisonment and fourth-degree assault.

Authorities said Daniels is the father of Lewis’ unborn child.
