A suspected drunken driver plowed through a Fife apartment Monday and narrowly missed a woman sleeping inside, police said Tuesday.

The crash occurred about 5:30 a.m. at the Lakes at Fife apartment complex, 2301 58th Ave. E. The woman woke up when the car crashed through her bedroom wall and came within inches of her bed before speeding away, police said.

Officers found the car – abandoned and with serious damage – a few blocks away. While investigating the car, the vehicle’s owner approached police and said his car had been stolen. Police said he was highly intoxicated.

The man was arrested on suspicion of reckless endangerment, hit-and-run and false reporting.
