Pistol-wielding pair beat, rob Tacoma man in home
A Tacoma man was pistol-whipped multiple times Thursday during a home invasion robbery, police said Friday.
The 55-year-old homeowner was sleeping about 7:40 a.m. when he heard someone break into his house in the 3500 block of South Monroe Street, police said.
Two armed men broke into the man’s bedroom and repeatedly hit him in the head with a revolver, police spokesman Mark Fulghum said. The robbers ransacked the house and escaped with money, jewelry and a cellphone.
The man called police about 9:45 a.m. He told officers he wasn’t immediately able to call 911 because he couldn’t move, and the robbers had threatened to kill him if he did.
The robbers were described as white, in their 40s, about 6 feet with medium builds.
