Olympia theater puts worker on leave after child-porn arrest Friday

Capital Playhouse placed interim artistic director Troy A. Fisher on administrative leave Friday after his arrest on the suspicion of possession of child pornography.
The arrest Friday came five days after he mysteriously went missing July 22. Detectives searched his home for clues about where he might have gone, and a computer forensics specialist reportedly found pornographic photos involving children on his computer.
A search warrant for the computer was granted, and additional forensic analysis is being performed.
Fisher, 52, was found unharmed at the Olympia Safeway about 1:45 a.m. Wednesday when he called 911 from a pay phone. He said he wasn’t sure what had happened to him while he’d been missing.
Fisher was booked Friday into Thurston County Jail and is being held without bail.
The Capital Playhouse board of directors released a statement Saturday afternoon saying Fisher is on leave pending the investigation.
“Capital Playhouse is cooperating fully with police and remains focused on ensuring a secure and positive environment for all children and families participating in our programs,” the release states.
The playhouse puts on plays involving children and teens and runs children’s theater workshops.
