A three-car collision about 4:30 p.m. Sunday that occurred after an occupant of one vehicle shot at another backed up southbound Interstate 5 near Boeing Field nearly six miles.

The shooting started in the 9000 block of Beacon Avenue South and continued to I-5, said Seattle police detective Jeff Kappel, though he said information was “extremely preliminary.”

A man in one of the cars was shot in the shoulder and taken to a hospital for a nonlife-threatening injury.

Kappel said the victim’s vehicle collided with another car, causing a crash that blocked all lanes of I-5.

The suspects were at large. Seattle Police Gang Unit detectives were going to investigate, Kappel said.
