Mid-price clothier Kohl’s Department Stores says it plans to hire 125 new workers to staff its new Gig Harbor store opening in September.
The company will hold a job fair this Saturday through Wednesday, Aug. 8 at the Inn at Gig Harbor to interview applicants for the jobs.
The company says it needs register operators, department associates, customer service associates, early morning freight unloaders and evening ad set associates. Kohl’s employees receive what the company calls “competitive compensation, great benefits and immediate merchandise discounts”.
Applicants should visit kohlscareers.com or call 877-639-5645 to schedule an interview and to obtain additional information regarding time and location, the Wisconsin-based retailer said.
Kohl’s new 55,000-square-foot store is the second major retailer in a redeveloped Point Fosdick Square. A new Safeway store opened in the shopping center earlier this year.
Point Fosdick Square is owned by Property Development Centers, a subsidiary of Safeway Inc. The 11-building reconstructed shopping center adjacent to the Uptown Gig Harbor lifestyle center contains some 182,000 square feet of floor space.
The Kohl’s Gig Harbor store will be its second in Pierce County and ninth in the Puget Sound area. Kohl’s first Pierce County store opened last year on Puyallup’s South Hill.
Kohl’s hasn’t set a specific opening date for the Gig Harbor store.
