A 57-year-old Tacoma man was upset that his neighbor’s daughter was trying to sneak out of her house so he fired a bullet to scare her back inside, police said.

  • Fire destroys Pasco home; second fire damages Kennewick apartment

    A chance sighting by a fire crew driving over the blue bridge Tuesday afternoon averted possible disaster for residents of a Pasco trailer park.

    The Pasco crew was returning from a Kennewick fire about 2:55 p.m. when they saw smoke coming from the Flamingo Village on Homestead Drive. They responded immediately and were able to put out the blaze before it spread to nearby homes.

    Flamingo Village manager Angela Watkins said it looked like flames were shooting from the water heater inside the trailer.
