Work is beginning this week on a new three-story, 45,000-square-foot medical building on a 3.2-acre site in Bonney Lake.
The $26.5 million medical structure is being erected on a parcel located at state Route 410 and 184th Street.
The Franciscan Medical Pavilion-Bonney Lake will include family medicine offices, an urgent-care facility, a retail pharmacy and other health-related offices.
The building is being developed by Tacoma-based Franciscan in partnership with Rush Commercial of Gig Harbor. The structure is scheduled to open in the spring.
The facility will be home to Franciscan Medical Group primary-care physicians and other professional providers, a Franciscan Prompt Care clinic that will provide appointment-free treatment for minor illnesses and injuries seven days a week, outpatient physical therapy, a retail pharmacy, a gastrointestinal clinic, an outpatient laboratory, diagnostic imaging services and outpatient infusion, the health care provider said.
The building will draw from design innovations Franciscan made when it built its similar medical pavilion on Canyon Road.
More than 60 Franciscan employees, physicians, members of the Franciscan Patient Advisory Council and others were involved in the process of recommending design features for the medical office building, said Gale Robinette, a Franciscan spokesman.
Patients at the Franciscan Medical Pavilion-Bonney Lake can be referred, as necessary, to Franciscan medical specialists in the area or hospitals in nearby Tacoma (St. Joseph Medical Center) or Enumclaw (St. Elizabeth Hospital) depending on their needs.
