 • Get ready to take in the Pierce County Fair as it kicks off today at Frontier Park, 21800 Meridian Ave. E. in Graham. It’s an old-fashioned country affair with a little ’60s fun thrown in along with animal exhibits, fair food, rides and more. It runs through Sunday with admission of $5 for all ages, parking is $5.  • Summer outdoor concerts are going strong with lots of music to enjoy. Here’s today’s: Bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic for the Summer Concerts on the Lawn featuring the Tacoma Concert Band at 6:30 tonight. It’s at Franke Tobey Jones, 5340 N. Bristol St., Tacoma. Free.

  • Handbell ensemble performing in Pasco

    The Sonos Handbell Ensemble will perform at Faith Assembly Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. today as part of the Community Concerts of the Tri-Cities series.

    Since its founding in 1990, Sonos has been at the forefront of handbell artistry, according to a news release. The group has moved hand-bells into the musical mainstream by using the best transcriptions and original material available, the release said. The Berkeley, Calif.-based ensemble travels all across the U.S., Europe, and Asia to perform.

    Admission is by season tickets, or $25 for adults and $10 for students.

  • Concert to benefit effort for refugee housing

    A World Relief Benefit Concert and Cultural Celebration is being held to benefit refugee housing. It will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church, 2001 W. Kennewick Ave., Kennewick.

    It will feature local musicians, refugee artists and performers, samples of international food and a silent auction.

    The event is being led by Richland High School senior Susan Bengtson. She and her family are volunteers with World Relief, which helps refugees establish themselves in their new communities.
