Lakewood’s Brett Manke twice came to the 18th hole on Wednesday with the match on the line at the Pacific Northwest Juniors Boys Amateur at Port Ludlow Golf Club.

Both times, the tournament’s No. 1 seed walked away with victories.

The memorable one came in the round-of-16 afternoon session, when the Bellarmine Prep junior birdied the final hole for a 2-up victory over Clarkston’s Michael Baldeck to advance.

With his opening match in the morning all square with Canadian Chris Crisologo, Manke won with a par at the final par 4, which Crisologo bogeyed.

Manke will meet Mill Creek’s Kyle Cornett, the reigning Class 4A state boys champion from Jackson High School, in today’s quarterfinal round.

Also in the quarterfinals is Orting’s Joe Harvie, the No. 6 seed. He won two matches Wednesday, including a 2-and-1 win over Spokane’s Tanner Comes.

Sean Yi shot a 1-over-par 72 in the final round to overcome overnight leader Jared Beals (82) for a seven-shot win.

Hanna Yi (78) fended off defending champion Rachel Fujitani (82) for a five-stroke victory.
