A car was hit by a Union Pacific train about 7 p.m. Thursday while crossing 78th Avenue East in Fife, according to Tacoma fire. The train was going about 40 miles per hour. The two men in the vehicle were taken to the hospital, one in critical condition and one with non-life-threatening injuries, said Cmdr. T. Floyd with the Fife Police Department.
