Marty Brown, state budget director for both Gov. Chris Gregoire and ex-Gov. Gary Locke, is leaving next month to become executive director for the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges. Brown, a lawyer by trade who also served previously as secretary of the state Senate, is expected to start in his new role in mid-September.
Gregoire put out a statement that said:
“Marty has been a constant in my office since the beginning of my administration. Over the last eight years, he’s been one of the first advisors I turn to when I need solid advice and has become a dear friend and trusted confidant.”
