A Puyallup motorcyclist killed Friday after an unoccupied septic truck rolled down a hill and hit him was identified Monday as 30-year-old James Sharp.
The father of three was heading north on 122nd Avenue East about 5:15 p.m. when the truck rolled 500 feet into the intersection and hit him, Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said. It had been parked on a slope on 151st Street East.
The truck’s driver told sheriff’s deputies he’d set the parking brake, but an inspection showed the brake had not been set, Troyer said. The 63-year-old driver, who works for an Eatonville company, was cited for negligent driving, a misdemeanor.
